CASE STUDY – Australia’s Largest LEGO® Team Event

CASE STUDY – Australia’s Largest LEGO® Team Event

Record Breaking Team Event

Mid 2023 a Global insurance company contacted us at Premier Team Building to discuss their annual team event which would take place in early 2024.

In Past years they only had 300 of their 600-person organisation attend this optional, annual event and they wanted this year to be bigger and better.

After discussing some concepts, goals, and their vision, we settled on a custom LEGO® themed event for their team.

Event Scope

  • Build a giant community out of LEGO®
  • Include their company brand colours prominently in the bricks
  • Include custom company-branded stickers
  • Take-home minifigure builds for each person
  • A LEGO® kit to be sent to all 600+ people in the company as part of their event invitation kit
  • Scale for up to 600 people
  • Race car inspiration
  • LEGO® themed everything

Invitation

This organisation invites every member of their organisation to their annual event. With this, they wanted to include a gift, something to motivate them to say yes to this optional event.

The client’s head office was near Sydney Speedway, so we wanted to have “race car” inspiration throughout the event, and that included their invitation gift bags.

Working with our LEGO® supplier, we were able to source over 600 LEGO® Race Car kits of various design and have it shipped to their office. This ensured that every member, regardless of their attendance would have a LEGO® car to build at home. This could be done with their family and be kept on their desk or anywhere at home. A little something to bring everyone together.

Due to the size of the order, we were actually responsible for draining the available stock at LEGO® HQ Australia of these LEGO® kits (Sorry, not sorry).

Branded Bricks

Part of the scope was to include their branding as much as possible. We did this by designing a series of branded stickers that each team had to include in their respective builds. Each team had their own sticker sheet which had their company logo and event slogan to be used.

Along with their stickers, we also organised over 150kg of company colour bricks to be used. Working with our suppliers we arranged to get their company-coloured bricks (or as close as possible) to ensure on-point branding for this event.

Every team received a sealed tub with a selection of bricks made up of their company colours to ensure that these colours, along with their stickers, were prominently displayed throughout the whole build.

Minifigure Station

Part of the scope of the event was that each person needed to build a LEGO® Minifigure which represented them and that they got to take home after the event.

With over 600 team members invited, we had to ensure we had pieces to build at least 700 minifigures, which included: Heads, Bodies, legs, hair, hats, helmets and accessories to allow every member the ability to customise their LEGO® Minifigure.

Thankfully we work with several amazing LEGO® suppliers and we were able easily to source and prep these pieces for our client.

Sea of LEGO

With the potential number of 600+ people, we had to ensure we had enough LEGO® and accessories for a group that size.

Thankfully as Australia’s largest LEGO® based team building company, we are well equipped to service large groups like this and we had prepared roughly 550KG of LEGO for this event, not including minifigures and building plates.

To describe the scale of this, it required a full trailer to transport 30+ Large tubs of all the LEGO®.

While this was a lot of LEGO®, in the end, we didn’t bring all of our LEGO® and had more in reserve on the day.

Record Breaking Numbers

In previous years, this client reported, that they had just over 300 people RSVP to some of their events, and less than that showed up on the day. Due to all the work from our team and their events committee, we ended up with 560+ RSVPs for this event. Breaking all of their records and ours for LEGO® events.

They reported how excited everyone was to take part in this LEGO®themed team building event and the buzz leading up the the event was felt throughout the organisation.

On the day there was a sea of people, teams in various themed shirts all working together to build a giant community and create their own LEGO® Minifigure to represent themselves.

Largest LEGO Team Event staff

At the time of this event, this stands as the largest LEGO® team building event, breaking the previous record we had set in 2023 in Brisbane.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the potential we offer our clients for fully customised events to ensure we align with their themes, goals, budget and desired outcomes.

If you would like to discuss a bespoke event rather than just a stock standard event many resorts and venues may offer you, then contact our team and let’s break your past records.
